MEMORISE: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

READ: Mark 4:37-39

  1. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
  2. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
  3. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

MESSAGE:

Two art works were displayed at a museum. One was a picture of a calm flowing river with serene vegetation where all animals were sitting quietly in their habitats. The second was a picture of a very troubled waterfall streaming down a mountain, with birds flying in the sky, a lion chasing a prey at a corner, and a mother bird sleeping in its nest amidst all the rowdiness. If you were to choose the artwork that depicts peace the most out of the two, you would probably choose the first one. However, the second artwork shows how God expects us to be in the midst of a crisis.

Jehovah Shalom simply means that God is our peace. He has promised that even though we live in a world where there is so much chaos and trouble that can’t be handled by human wisdom or strength, He will be there by our side to give us peace that passes all understanding.

If you are facing any challenge in your family, academics, or spiritual life, I implore you to invite Jesus and ask Him to take over. If you are troubled, ask Him to restore peace unto you and calm every storm.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please calm every raging storm in my life and family, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezra 1:1-2:70; 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:5

HYMN 41: Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All

  1. Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All,
    Hear Me, Blest Saviour, When I Call;
    Hear Me, And From Thy Dwelling Place
    Pour Down The Riches Of Thy Grace;

Refrain:
Jesus, My Lord, I Thee Adore;
Oh Make Me Love Thee More And More.

  1. Jesus, Too Late I Thee Have Sought;
    How Can I Love Thee As I Ought?
    And How Extol Thy Matchless Fame,
    The Glorious Beauty Of Thy Name? [Refrain]
  2. Jesus, What Didst Thou Find In Me,
    That Thou Hast Dealt So Lovingly?
    How Great The Joy That Thou Hast Brought
    So Far Exceeding Hope Or Thought! [Refrain]
  3. Jesus, Of Thee Shall Be My Song,
    To Thee My Heart And Soul Belong;
    All That I Have Or Am Is Thine,
    And Thou, Blest Saviour, Thou Art Mine. [Refrain]
