11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

One major thing that helps anybody to grow or make progress in every aspect of life is personal development. Anyone that desires change, improvement, success and progress must take personal development very serious. In fact, such an individual must be intentional about it. Lack of personal development is known to be the cause of stagnancy, poverty and a life of no impact. If you must move forward in life and touch lives positively, you must invest in personal development. It does not come cheaply. That is why we are talking about investment. You need to pay the price. All great men and women of God who are doing amazingly well are working very hard to achieve their dreams.

One of the ways through which you can develop yourself spiritually, physically, economically, etc is by reading. You must invest in books. Apostle Paul was an avid reader. In the list of things he asked Timothy to bring to him were his parchments and books. Books help to expand your knowledge and increase your intelligence. Apostle Paul worked hard to fulfil the calling of God upon his life. He did not take it with levity (1 Corinthians 9: 16). He understood the grave consequences of failing in his calling; so he never wanted to fail. Self-development involves other series of activities such as learning new skills, spiritual development, etc.

Father Abraham was a hardworking man. Slothfulness was never found in him. Genesis 12:5 says, “And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.” The children of Abraham will do the works of Abraham as Jesus told the people in John 8: 39. To make impact in life, you must invest in self-development.

O Lord, reschedule my destiny for uncommon breakthroughs, in the name of Jesus.
