Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 27 September 2024 By Dr. D.K Olukoya | Needless Pain

TOPIC: Needless Pain (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 27 September 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 61, Isaiah 62, John 3, John 4.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 6:25-34 (KJV)

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

MEMORY VERSE: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” – John 14:27 (KJV)

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
Jesus, our burden bearer, will bear all your burdens today.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I TRADE MY SORROW, BURDEN AND PAIN FOR THE JOY OF THE LORD, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Why worry when you can pray? The hymn writer observed, “What great privilege we forfeit, what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!” Prayer helps to stir up and increase our faith. When faith comes in, fear, anxiety, unbelief and worry will jump out. When the enemy thrusts the arrow of worry and anxiety at you, the solution is for you to arise and pray to God. You shouldn’t worry about the future if you have the Alpha and omega as your God. You shouldn’t worry about what you will eat drink and wear if the Great Provider is with you. You shouldn’t overly worry about the enemy if the Lord of hosts is for you.

Worry is interest paid on trouble before it becomes due. It is needless pain when you bear alone the burden that God and your genuine human helpers are willing to relieve you of. Whether the burden is spiritual, physical, psychological, emotional, marital or financial, you shouldn’t make it the subject of worry or anxiety. Worry is a sign of lack of faith in God. It leads to murmuring and complaining. Many have cut short their lives by worrying. It is counter-productive. It is the enemy’s trusted weapon for denying you of your God-given peace, joy and abundant life in Christ Jesus. Worry plagues both believers and unbelievers. It cuts across racial, economic and educational boundaries, and only very few human beings are free from its grip and torment. Are you?

Both the Old and the New Testaments contain numerous admonitions that believers should not give in to worry and anxiety. In Psalm 112, the Psalmist highlights the hallmarks of the righteous, “Surely he shall not be moved forever. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed trusting in the LORD. His heart is established until he sees his desire upon his enemies.” Similarly, Jesus Christ our role model, in spite of the challenges and opposition He faced, did not allow worry and anxiety in His life. He advised us not to worry, no matter what confronts us or what we are passing through. Heed apostle Paul’s advice: Be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication, make your request known unto God. Avoid needless pain!
